Regular Meeting
January 3, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM. Present were Chairman Kevin Heman, Kevin McGahey, Ron Milenski, Ed Sweeney and Parks & Rec Director Sue Shanahan. Ed Carlson, Barbara Clark and Kelton Burbank were absent.
Parks & Rec Director Updates
Sue reported:
- Travel basketball is underway
Saturday basketball begins this week
- Upcoming programs include a ski program, winter art and Audubon program
- Sue will keep a key to pond gate in the snack shack
- Irrigation is complete at TPS
- Nets have been put away
- Flag light at Krashes is out – Sue will talk with John Lebeaux
- Attended the All Board’s meeting in December
- Will draft annual report
- Highway Department will pave Center School walking path in spring
Winter Carnival Planning
Discussion will take place at the next meeting when Kelton is present. In the meantime Brenda will check with Kelton on what needs to be done by Sue and the committee and get information on the number of subscribers to recreation news.
FY12 Budget –Expense Account
After reviewing annual operating expenses, the committee agreed to ask the Board of Selectmen for a 15% increase in the budget. Cost of electricty accounts for a significant amount of the budget. Jon Fitch will do a study in the spring to determine how to reduce cost.
The committee will work with John Lebeaux for any capital expenses to be paid from Grounds Maintenance account. Ron will get an estimate on the cost of an automatic paint sprayer for use on the fields.

Minutes: November 1, 2010 Ron moved to approve as amended. Ed seconded. All in favor (4-0).
